【Large EV autonomous bus】 Autonomous driving demonstration
An autonomous driving bus pilot program was conducted in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, from November 4 to November 30, 2025.
This project is an ongoing initiative since FY2023, aimed at realizing Level 4 autonomous bus services on a section of the Okunikko Low-Emission Bus route. With a focus on full-scale social implementation, the FY2025 trials utilized a large EV bus (seating capacity of 27), matching the specifications of buses currently in regular operation.
